The Reasons Why You Should Keep Your Thumbs Safe

Hi! I'm return from the grave! Okay, I'm not. Let's just move on to the topic I wanna talk about: Thumbs. May this experience of losing thumbs' function for like two days or so open your eyes and see that every small stuffs like only thumbs that usually underestimated could be very useful. Seriously, if my thumbs ain't got better, it's killing me.
So lately, I got a few scratches--serious scratches--on both of my thumbs. I don't really remember what makes those damn scratches, but my thumbs were bleeding! I was panic because it bleeds in the middle of my shower. But thank God I still got enough supplies of bandages. So I stopped my shower--actually I'm done--and fix my thumbs instead. I thought it would be just fine. I mean, my thumbs are gonna be okay. Well, they are. But something else kinda came up.
It was only like two days--I think it's three now--I got bandages on my both thumbs. And I think having bandaged injuries is kinda cool. Well, it's really not cool when the injuries are on your BOTH thumbs. I was having trouble of doing any stuff. I can't play guitar with thumbs closed. Also play piano. Even when I hold my cellphone! So all day what I did is watching TV--not cool. It's even harder to wear any jeans, so I can't even go out.
But then I realized how hard it is to live without small underestimated stuffs like thumbs. You might remember Aglet, the tip of shoelace. Without it, I'm very sure it'd be really hard to wear shoes. Let's think this way: We can't under estimate every single stuff in this world. What I'm trying to say is don't let each others down, whoever they are and whatever they do for living. I always did, if you wanna know secret. And I regret to be. So don't under estimate every single stuff in this world. They're created because they got something to do in their lifetime. You just can't let them down. Somehow you can't.
So, what's your 'thumb' and did you keep it safe and sound?

Sincerly yours,
Adinda

Album Review: Vices & Virtues

This is my another favorite album. It'd looked more make sense if I reviewed this first, but, yeah, whatever. Let's just moving on.
Vices & Virtues is third studio album by an American rock band Panic! at the Disco. The album marks the debut of the band's two-man lineup, featuring vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith, following the departure of primary lyricist and guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker in July 2009. Some said the departure cause was the exclamation mark (!) the band used for the name. Since the first album, the exclamation mark's already been there, placed after the word 'Panic'. But during their second album Pretty. Odd. they removed the exclamation mark. But even though they've departed from the band, the four of them still are best friends. Okay, I'm way out of the line. So, the album. Upon release, the album received generally mixed to positive reviews. Critics praised the album's wide variety of musical stylings, while citing compositional simplicity and Urie's verbose lyricism as detractors. Preceded by lead single, The Ballad of Mona Lisa, the album debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 selling 56,000 copies within its first week.
The record contained 10 tracks in it. It starts with the first single The Ballad of Mona Lisa. I loved the music video, which released on February 2011. The video takes place on the set which they also use for the video of their first single I Write Sins, Not Tragedies for the opening. Oh, and I also loved the second single, Ready To Go. I mean, it's a song that told you that you need to moving on. The song was featured for the ending of the movie The Smurfs. The third single, Let's Kill Tonight was also a great song. But my favorite track of the record would be Always. I love the guitar play. Oh, the track that mostly amaze me is the ninth track, Sarah Smiles. I mean, geez, that makes every Northern Downpour (P!ATD fans) named Sarah very lucky! I guess that track was written for Brendon Urie's fiance, Sarah Orzechowski--I haven't figured out if they've married yet.
I don't have this record, actually. So, I listened those songs from YouTube. Weird, huh? But I have an intention to buy it, soon--I hope. I can't buy the record because I may have missed it when it came here to my town in Indonesia. But I could still order it on Amazon.com. Yeay! And, by the way, it's only $9.79 at Amazon.com.

The Homecoming Story

So, uh, as you can see on the title, I'm gonna tell you about the homecoming I told you through an earlier post. It doesn't even seemed like a homecoming at all. It's more just like a graduation. Maybe it is, but, whatever. Let me just tell you.
My performance--uh, our performance--was awesome! My dad said that I was doing great with the piano. He also said compared to others, I was the best. Nah, I don't think that's the truth. Because, you see, I mainly played guitar and piano was just my some kind of secondary instrument. I didn't formally learned piano--shortly I learned to play piano on my own. And it seems just impossible the one who mainly played guitar performing piano play better than the one who mainly played piano, right?
But other performances were also great awesome! I really wanted to post some pictures of it, but too bad I didn't took any pictures. Well, I took some, but most of them blurred. Others used their Single-lens reflex camera (SLR camera). I only got a digital camera, and it's not really great, so, uh, I considered to not taking pictures. Okay, let's just talk about the event. So, other performances. Most of the performances are bringing one or more song(s), I guess. I like it when it comes to band performances. I mean, band in suit was like other best thing boys could do, right?
There was one thing I, uh, pretty surprised about. My, uh, what should I call him... uh, former love ex-boyfriend ex-boyfriend would be fine. So, the ex-boyfriend stuff. He, uh, is a drummer, I guess. Well, he can't play guitar--the last time I knew he can't. But he performed with his guys, a song called 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay, playing bass guitar. But, no offense, it's horrible. They lost the beat in the show--they don't even have it. The piano went too soon, the guitar went too late, the bass guitar lost, the vocals missed. Too bad he lost me--he'll regret it that he had let me go just like that.
Anyway, my girls, Adel and Tamia, won the place #1 and #2 of high score! Congratulations, you girls! Me? No, I didn't even got #10 place. Too bad. By the way, I'm still waiting hoping for my graduation present. My dad promise me an electric guitar--it's gonna be my very first baby--if I reached score at least 36. But, well, I reached 35.35, sadly. It was so close almost so close. I guess I'll never gonna have my baby. Well, then it's time for saving money. I might tag this resolution with FOR CHARITY, I guess. Nah, I'm not gonna tag it like that.
I guess that's all my saying. I wish I could post some pictures, but I don't even have it, so, what can I do? Oh, and by the way thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
Adinda.

Sharing Playlist

Hi. Well, I recently pissed because my twitter account got some kind of virus--well, that's what my big sister said. I don't really understand it, but the point is right now I can't access my twitter account unless I reset its password. I did send the password reset mail stuff, but I don't remember my e-mail password. So then I clicked that Forgot My Password stuff, but then they lock my e-mail for secure because I don't remember my all-time favorite movie character. It's been the worst moment of all-time. I can do that all over again, but I need to wait for 12 hours. What the heck is my all-time favorite movie character?! I don't understand why can't I remember. Well, people changed, right? Maybe my 'all-time favorite movie character' is now my 'no-time favorite movie character'. I guessed Spengebob Squarepants and Sherlock Holmes--because I think that's my all-time favorite movie character--but it didn't work out. I feel so regretful right now. Why didn't I write everything down befor I forget it? Well, yes, I talked too much.
Now, I have an intention to share you guys my playlist. Since this is the first time, I'll start off with mine. The whole next time I'll share yours based on votings. I'll make a kind of top 10 chart--or playlist, or whatever--and I'll update weekly, maybe every Thursday. But you don't have to worry about missing it. I've made a page titled 'Sharing Playlist'. I also put a link where you can submit your playlist. Just need 10 songs or less written as a playlist which #1 is your most favorite. Oh, also give the details of the song--each song--like the title, of course, the artist, from what album, and in what year the song was released. It might be like this.

'Kids in the Street'
Artist: The All-American Rejects
Album: Kids in the Street
Year: 2012

Pretty easy, huh? But if you still don't get it, you might wanna check here.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Adinda.

Album Review: Kids in the Street

So, uh, actually I post this because I don't know what else to post. But suddenly this came into my mind. It's been such a boring holiday, and last night I can't even sleep because of this boredom. Well, I might have been an insomniac, but, uh, forget it. Let's just back to our main subject.
Kids in the Street has been my favorite records so far. It's the fourth album from an American rock band The All-American Rejects. Before they released this album on March 26, 2012, they released the promotional single which also come to be the first track of the records, Someday's Gone. The music video released on December 5, 2011. The first single Beekeeper's Daughter premiered through an American teen drama TV series 90120 on January 31, 2012 which featured an appearance from the band as themselves performing this song, before being digitally released on the same day. The music video followed its release on February 2. The title track Kids in the Street was released as the album's second single on March 13, followed by its music video release on April 16.
The record starts with Someday's Gone, which gives you (gives me) some kind of tour back to the previous album When the World Comes Down. Continues with Beekeeper's Daughter that'll give you more thrills. Lead guitarist Nick Wheeler and lead vocalist Tyson Ritter said that the title came from a honey jar they had for breakfast 'The Beekeeper's Daughter'. Moving on to the third track Fast & Slow. This track shows up their 'matureness', according to the lyrics. After those three fast tracks, slow everything down through Heartbeat Slowing Down, which possible to break my your heart into pieces and, um, might tear you apart. Okay, that's too much. The fifth track Walk Over Me said to be the band's favorite track. Yeah, that's what I heard.. The title track Kids in the Street has become all AARMY's favorite track (AARMY is The All-American Rejects' fandom). This track gives you (again, gives me) the feel of authority. The band's frontman Tyson Ritter described the feel like when you feel smart and dumb at the same time. The music video is actually awesome, turning the whole band into their teenage form. The performance part showing the band performing the song in a small dim-light room with their instruments glowing in the dark. It's pretty cool. Oh, my favorite tracks beside Kids in the Street are the last two tracks. The track Affection starts with violin play (actually the violin plays along the whole song). And, last but not least track I For You is an acoustic track. This track was 'recorded in a cabin somewhere outside the Sequoia National Forest'. This song twice performed before the album's release--on DJ Rossstar show and on AOL Sessions.
The tracks I mostly like are Kids in the Street, Affection, and I For You. I got the record for Rp75.000,00 in my town. It's $9.49 only at Amazon.com. Go grab it! Okay, now that's too much.

The Comeback

Well, yeah, it's been so long. It's like I've gone somewhere far, woods, perhaps? No, I'm not going anywhere. So, uh, okay, stop the chit-chat. I recently passed from the pain I got from National Examination. Well, it's been a long time. Like, maybe a month away. But the good news is, well, I guess I came up with no good news.
So, here's the thing. I enrolled to a high school. It's actually my favorite high school in town. It's one of those favorite high schools in town. I'm still waiting for the test result. Ooh, I'm so nervous! But this is just all about time. Which means the rest I can do is wait.
Another thing that had just made me so nervous is the performance I'll perform for homecoming. So me and my two friends, Laras and Tami, are going intend to do some performance. We had a plan that we'll perform two songs: 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz and 'Like We Used To' by A Rocket To The Moon. Tami will do the vocals, Laras will play violin, and I will play my guitar for the song 'Lucky' and then piano for the song 'Like We Used To. We planned this performance for long, like maybe one or two months away. We got so many changes about the song. First time we planned to bring out 'I For You' by The All-American Rejects--which is my favorite song from my favorite band. Then Tami told me she liked this song, 'Why' by Avril Lavigne. So we decided to perform both, at first. But I complained her about her song then she complained me about my song. So, none of them will performed. But one day, she came up and ask me for other song, 'Like We Used To' by A Rocket To The Moon--which is the one we're going to perform. This one's great, and I'll perform by playing piano--which is my first experience. Then Laras--who haven't appeared yet in me and Tami's performance discussion--wanted this song, 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz, to be performed. So then we are fixed to perform those two songs. Pretty complicated, huh?
The only thing I always avoid is choking in the middle of public performing. Especially for this homecoming. And, guess what? My date for homecoming was my dad. Hilarious? No, it's not even funny. But it's not lame either. Everyone came around with only a parent. So I'll come around with my dad instead of showing up with my mom. Well, somehow he's just better for me. Won't you wish us a luck on performing for homecoming?

Thank you for reading, anyway!
Sincerely yours,
Adinda.

It's H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.!

Holiday, the best part of school life. I almost can't believe I am on holiday. But soon I'll had a big exam--the important one. Hey, anyway I recently starting this holiday. So let's just enjoy this one first. Well, I insist to set myself free from those complicated problems.

I had a story before this annual holiday--I had a school vacation. We went through Bandung and Jakarta--we took places that had beautiful scenery. And gladly my friend Laras--who also a pretty vintage girl--bring her instant camera! We took some pics there. And, man, you have no idea how glad I was on that school trip. But the best part of a trip is the travel part--when I can read my books while I listen to my music.

Still, there is nothing perfect in this world. This trip also had a suck part--when I hope I could shop in a bookstore in Bandung but my bus park at a fancy factory outlet which I will buy nothing. Well, in fact that clothing store had a really nice shoes I had a crush with. But my dad told me not to buy something unusual--and a pair of shoes seemed like unusual for a middle school girl to buy. So I buy nothing--well, I buy five guitar picks that my friend buy from the store next door. And awfully they got an acoustic guitar priced Rp 128.000,00 only! It was a great one but I didn't know it! What an awful!

Anyway, there's no need to regret things that have passed. The good thing is I am now on a holiday. Everybody loves holiday, eh?
