This is my another favorite album. It'd looked more make sense if I reviewed this first, but, yeah, whatever. Let's just moving on.
Vices & Virtues is third studio album by an American rock band Panic! at the Disco. The album marks the debut of the band's two-man lineup, featuring vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith, following the departure of primary lyricist and guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker in July 2009. Some said the departure cause was the exclamation mark (!) the band used for the name. Since the first album, the exclamation mark's already been there, placed after the word 'Panic'. But during their second album Pretty. Odd. they removed the exclamation mark. But even though they've departed from the band, the four of them still are best friends. Okay, I'm way out of the line. So, the album. Upon release, the album received generally mixed to positive reviews. Critics praised the album's wide variety of musical stylings, while citing compositional simplicity and Urie's verbose lyricism as detractors. Preceded by lead single, The Ballad of Mona Lisa, the album debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 selling 56,000 copies within its first week.
The record contained 10 tracks in it. It starts with the first single The Ballad of Mona Lisa. I loved the music video, which released on February 2011. The video takes place on the set which they also use for the video of their first single I Write Sins, Not Tragedies for the opening. Oh, and I also loved the second single, Ready To Go. I mean, it's a song that told you that you need to moving on. The song was featured for the ending of the movie The Smurfs. The third single, Let's Kill Tonight was also a great song. But my favorite track of the record would be Always. I love the guitar play. Oh, the track that mostly amaze me is the ninth track, Sarah Smiles. I mean, geez, that makes every Northern Downpour (P!ATD fans) named Sarah very lucky! I guess that track was written for Brendon Urie's fiance, Sarah Orzechowski--I haven't figured out if they've married yet.
I don't have this record, actually. So, I listened those songs from YouTube. Weird, huh? But I have an intention to buy it, soon--I hope. I can't buy the record because I may have missed it when it came here to my town in Indonesia. But I could still order it on Amazon.com. Yeay! And, by the way, it's only $9.79 at Amazon.com.
